We wish to recruit a new technical team member to join our Software Development team. Reporting to the Development Project Manager you will have responsibility for analysis, design, development and QA of the next generation modules of the 8over8 product suite.

The candidate will be encouraged to proactively participate in the evolution of the core architecture & technology framework of our product-set through the use of new and emerging technologies. You will also use your commercial software development experience to offer improvements to internal processes and methodologies of our development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:-

• Working as part of a team to develop robust and innovative functional modules that extend our product offering.
• Assist with requirement gathering from customers (internal and external), creating preliminary design concepts, and drafting technical design documents.
• Maintaining, tuning and improving existing functionality based on customer feedback to ensure continued product evolution and improvement.
• Provide on-going technical support to the 8over8 implementation and support consultants.
• Participate in execution and documentation of tests necessary to ensure that an application or technical environment meets performance requirements.
• Ensure that the project manager and team lead are kept fully informed of progress and, in particular, of any problems that might jeopardise or change the project scope.
• Mentoring of other members of the team to ensure dissemination of knowledge and strengthening of team.

Key skills and experience:-

• Solid track record delivering successful web-based applications through the full product lifecycle.
• 4 years experience working with Microsoft web technologies and development environments such as ASP, .NET, VB6, COM+, SQL Server, C#, Visual Studio 2005 etc.
• Excellent knowledge of open Web technologies such as XML, XSLT, JavaScript, HTML etc.
• Knowledge of SQL and database structures.
• Experience in designing clean and functional Web Application user interfaces.

Additional experience:-

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent from a leading University.
• 3+ years of experience in programming, analytics, or technical role.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer orientation.
• Experience with extreme programming (XP) development practices a plus.
• Accurately plan & estimate work for self and others in the form of clearly broken down design documents and work breakdown structures.
